Silver Course Record Trophy. With crossed clubs hallmarked Birmingham 1937, Marker Elkington & Co having a silver plaque to base Named to Reginald William Horne 19th July 1908 - 5th January 1984 was an English professional golfer whose most notable success came in winning the News of the World match Play shortly after World War II he also won other important events on the British Circuit. He nearly won the Open Championship in 1947 at Hoylake, scoring a 71 in the final round to catch and overtake players like Henry Cotton and Norman Von Nida as the 3rd round leaders all struggled, but in the end Irishman Fred Daly beat him by one shot. Horne played in the 1947 Ryder Cup
