The Golfer's Catechism A Vade Mecum to the Rules of Golf Browning, Robert H K published by H O Quinn, Ltd, London, UK, 1935. Illustrated 88 pages. The first book designed to explain the most common rules by way of official answers to queries to the R & A Rules Committee. Editor Browning writes in the introduction that with thirty years' experience, he believes "the problems he has set in this Catechism are in his opinion of sufficient range to meet the requirements of the average golfer in all stages of play." The 117 questions, selected from about 350 questions in the latest Decisions of the Rules book, are on the verso, the recto a blank ruled page for the reader's opinion. The correct answers to all questions are in the rear of the book for the reader's edification. When first sold, the Answer section, p. 53 to p.74, was closed with a small paper label, meant to be split by the reader after he wrote down his answers. The label halves are still present
