Collection of early 19th c Edinburgh Evening Courant Newspapers covering important St Andrews golf related matters from 1813 onwards (4) to include newspapers September 13, 1813 announcing the Silver Club to be played for on Wednesday the 6th and the Gold Medal on Friday, 8 October followed in the evening by a Ball as usual; October 27, 1832 announcing the Annual General Meeting of the St Andrews Golf Club on Wednesday the 10th instant, Charles Craigie Halket of Dumbarnie and Hallhill was chosen as captain; and on Friday last, the Golf Medal was played for, won by John Wood Esq, The Ball in the evening was well attended and went off in great style; November 30, 1833 p.3 col.3 interesting review and update of St Andrews including colleges, golf Links, archery including the new club, possibly a new Bowling Green, and virtually every room and house almost completely occupied; August 7, 1934 announcing The Silver Club to be played for over on Wednesday 24th and the Golf Medal on Friday the 26 September - and after the latter there will be a Ball as usual
