Collection of very early 19th c Edinburgh Evening Courant Newspapers covering important golf and archery related matters from 1810 to 1813 (5) to include newspapers May 17, 1810 announcing the Soma Club given by the City of Edinburgh to be played for over Leith Links on 2 June and the Gold Medal given by the Edinburgh Society of Golfers to be played for on Saturday, 16 June; December 31, 1812 interesting reference to a marriage at Golf-Hill; May 20, 1813 announcing the Gold Medal given by the honourable Company of Golfers to be played on Leith links on 5 June and the Silver Club given by the city of Edinburgh to be played for on Saturday, 26 June over the same links; July 8, 1813 detailing the winner of the Gold Medal given by the honourable Company of Golfers was played and gained by William Mitchell Esq and just below the announcement with regards to silver bowl given by the Royal Company of Archers and won by John Watson; December 4, 1813 with reference to a case in law where the 'game of golf was not left untouched'
