1920 on: Jim Sullivan Archive, Wales R League Jersey etc (Qty): Marvellous selection around the great Welsh & GB goalkicking & try scoring fullback legend, half a century involved with Wigan and the League as player, coach & 'ambassador'. To include his beautifully box-framed Wales RL international jersey, scarlet with white collar & sewn-on Wales badge & 'England 1936' legend, from his captaincy v them at Pontypridd in 1936, a lovely display item, with notes on provenance; a pair of period, now laceless, rugby boots, worn black leather with six long metal studs each, hugely evocative; a super selection of some 50 press and personal b/w photos of Jim and teammates in portrait or action style across the decades, some being famous shots, including brilliant images during and after Wembley Cup Final success; booklets, telegram, cards & letters from friends, acquaintances and institutions at home and 'Down Under', all underlining the huge respect in which he was held, often deeply & poignantly expressed, & tribute to his man-management qualities; large pictures of his widow Eve at the naming after Jim of 'Sullivan Way' in Wigan, late 1970s; Jim's unique business cards (some hijacked by Eve!), a 1955 BBC TV pass from Peter Dimmock, membership of the NSW Leagues Club, Sydney 1955 & even a place card/wedding cake card from their wedding; and a raft of travel guides & publicity material from the US, Ireland, Egypt, Ceylon, Malta, Australia, NZ etc and en route there by ship. Overall a really personal look at the great man with items so rarely available relating to a genuine giant of the game. Superb lot
