A rare opportunity to purchase a piece of angling history

A rare opportunity to purchase a piece of angling history. A unique B James & Son, London, England, 14' 3 piece prototype ferruless Spanish Reed & split cane rod. Designed & owned by Richard Walker and purchased from Pat Walker (Dick's widow) via Peter Thomas with letter of provenance. Joe Emmens of Sheffield built the rod with twin butt rings in the traditional Sheffield style. It was finished by B James workshop in Ealing, in their trademark claret whipping. The rod was not taken on by Jim Bruce because the complexity of the build of the double splice reed proving too costly to produce as a commercial product. A typed facsimile letter confirming the Richard Walker ownership & provenance signed P.M. Walker & dated January 5th. 1994 accompanies the rod, along with a variety of letters, black/white photographs including one of Walker & Pete Thomas, plus an article extract with photograph showing Pete Thomas using this rod.
