Engraving. 'The Railway Station'. Drawn by W P Frith. Engraved by Francis Holl. Published by Henry Graves and Co, Publishers to the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales, 6 Pall Mall, London 1 October 1866. The picture was sold to Henry Graves & Co., who produced the official engraving after the work in 1866, done by artist Frank Holl. The newspapers of the day make claims that the price paid to Flatow by the engraver was as much as £24,000 (Art Journal 1869). Graves in turn said that he paid a total of £18,400: £16,300 for the painting and the list of subscribers and £2100 to buy out a previously contracted engraver (Please note slight water damage to bottom of print) 140 x 84cm f&g by A J Akins & Son Bournemouth (COLLECTION ONLY)
