This match play event saw Jones post a staggering double digit triumph in each of his last three matches on the way to the title - quarter-final match (14 and 13 equalling the most decisive win in the events history), the semi-final Friday September 14 (13 and 12), and the route completing final win was a 10 and 9 victory over T Phillip Perkins, who was a top competitor of the day as the reigning British Amateur Champion.
