Slavery - Granville Sharp fine autograph letter signed (fine signature) dated 1780. A legal letter concerning the will of Lord Crew. Although William Wilberforce is largely credited with being the architect of the abolition of slavery, it was actually the Rev Granville Sharp who was the real architect, forming the movement which finally persuaded Wilberforce to bring the legislation for the abolition of slavery before Parliament, and as such his contribution to ridding the western world of the scourge of slavery should never be forgotten
