Japanese Rugby Selection (Qty): First time we have seen much of this splendid material over the last 75 years from this emerging rugby nation: a real treasure trove. 26 loose copies and six uniformly bound volumes of the JRFU's Japanese language Rugby Football magazine, most if not all of the well-illustrated periodical's issues from No.1 in October 1951 to the end of the 1962-3 season; Programmes: both Otago University & Auckland University v All Japan 1968; NZ Under-23s v All Japan & the Tour Brochure, 1974; England U-23s v Japan 1976; B Colombia Schools v Japan Schools 1971; S Midlands, S & SW v Japan Schools 1976 & the Tour Brochure; large attractive bilingual tour programmes for the Cambridge University (with great 'welcome newspaper' & manager's post-tour report) and Australian Universities tours to Japan in 1953 & 1956; Oxford Manager's report on their 1952 trip; brochures for B Colombia's 1970 tour to Japan, Japan's return visit there in 1976, and a lovely stiff 4pp card from the NZ Universities' 1970 tour, a crisp squad photo inserted and the signatures of the party, inc Kember (Capt), Kirton, Thorne, Burgess, Matheson etc; the JRFU's brief history of Rugby in Japan; & great correspondence, reports & stats between the JRFU & the British Army's Japanese R & R centre during the Korean War.
