Bernard Venables original Fishing for Perch Watercolour: this is the original impressive painting that illustrated the front cover of the Fishing for Perch with Mr Cherry and Jim and Tim. The Artwork is an original watercolour illustration painted and signed by the father of modern angling Bernard Venables (1907-2001), who died a poor man despite having sold over two million copies of the most famous modern angling book which he illustrated in strip cartoon format 'Mr Crabtree goes Fishing'. This was obtained when the offices closed, by a journalist working for the Angling Times in the 1970s. Comes with its original card mount a strong Bernard Venables signature lefthand side, and with a copy of a cover proof front page of the book. Picture mounted size 32cm x 46.5cm
