Super rare 1955 British & Irish Lions Matchworn Rugby Jersey: Bearing his tour number of 18 in white, the close-to immaculate scarlet Lions' jersey of Ireland wing/centre and dentist AC 'Cecil' Pedlow, who played in two of the tests on that trek. Made by Forsyth's in Scotland and named to Pedlow on the label, it has the traditional Lions' four-countries' badge to the breast, size 42", and some quilting to the shoulders and elbows, doubtless helpful on the hard grounds of the high veldt. Pedlow (1934-2019) was a talented all round international sportsman despite his far from sharp eyesight, and a popular tourist and figure. The jersey was exchanged on tour with Springbok opponent Theuns Briers. This is a marvellous chance to own and preserve a lovely piece of historic rugby memorabilia. Excellent condition
