Napoelonic Wars - Count Woronzow, Russian Ambassador to England important Autographed Letter date 11 Feb 1799 in French discussing in detail the naval situation in the Mediterranean, together with two copy letters in French giving an appraisal of British Naval activity, mentioning Nelson, St Vincent and HMS Belleraphon. An important group of papers relating to the navy at the height of the Napoleonic Wars. The correspondence is in French because although Woronzow was Russian Ambassador to England for a considerable number of years, he never bothered to learn a word of English. (4)
