WWII - Autograph - Carl Rodenburg (1894-1992) Signed Photocard inscribed to the reverse with signature in blue ink to front. A German general who commanded the 76 Infanterie Division and was recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with oak leaves. He was the German General captured by the Russians at Stalingrad and promptly promoted to Field Marshal by Hitler in the expectation he would commit suicide, which he didn't. The Russians were so surprised to have captured a Field Marshal that they had to ask the German high command for confirmation of Carl's rank
