WWII - RAF Training and Pilot Logbook Archive Collection - an extensive collection of documents, books, guides, photographs and more relating to J H (Jack) Abell, serving in the RAF from Aug 1942 to Sep 1946 being based in Canada between May 1943 and April 1944, then returning to the UK then going to India between Jan and Sept 1946. Included is a logbook of activity from April 1943 to Sep 1946 listing all training and other flying tests and movements covering a variety of aircraft including Cornell, Oxford, Wellington and Dakota, together with 1939-45 war medal and ribbon, dog tags, pilots certificate, service book, clothing cards, personal photographs, No.3 Flight No.3 Squadron Dec 1942 group photograph, 1944 daily journal diary, with references to D-Day landings, RAF embroidered pilots wings, tie and scarf. Also included with the lot is a Navigational Computer Mk III D, an unopened Air Ministry issued first aid outfit for air crew in very good condition, small selection of black and white photographs of aircraft including tin engine jet and aftermath of a crash-landed Douglas Dakota on 7th May 1946, with numerous maps, charts and Air Ministry codes and instruction booklets.
