Scarce and Rare Dunlop Lattice Golf Ball Advertising aid and posters c1932 - a unique oversized Dunlop lattice pattern golf ball advertising aid, purchased originally in North Berwick, Scotland in the 1980s. The original owner was paid 8 shillings a day in the 1930s to parade around the Northern Championship courses with this Dunlop golf ball strapped to his head, together with two sandwich board posters (included within lot) promoting winners of two important tournaments of the day who had won using Dunlop golf balls. The last time the head display was worn during the 1933 Open Championship at St Andrews. The sandwich board posters depicting the 1932 victories of W J Branch, West of England Open and B. Hodson, Yorkshire Evening News 1000 Guineas Tournament were secured to the body with glued crepe paper, but were later framed to protect them from damage - the ball and cap display measuring 19" high, complete with leather straps, appears with signs of age related wear, small chips as expected in a few places, still very presentable, the posters framed measures 22x18" approx appear with tears, folds and creasing (3)
