1896 Rare Cunswick Golf Club Kendal (Est 1896-1907) bronze 3rd Place Medal - the obverse engraved with the club's details, crest and 3rd 1896 and on the reverse embossed figure of a period golfer and stamped Vaughton & Sons Birmingham comes in the original box with embossed gilt details to the lid. Note Founded in 1896. A 9-hole course The Cunswick area was rather remote, after about a year a lease was obtained on nearly 90 acres close to the town and the club moved and became the Serpentine Club. Another nearby Golf Club known as The Racecourse Club and again in a remote area folded and Serpentine G.C absorbed the new members and was renamed The Kendal Golf Club.
