Canada the Plannishek O'Grady Expedition real photograph postcards c1929-30. From the Artic to the Tropics by canoe, Azo Canada postcards. This bizarre expedition was caried out by Eskimo Charley Planinshek, his children and Frank O'Grady. A trip of 8,000 miles from Hudson Bay to the Bahamas was intended to gain fame and fortune, but failed miserably. Money was raised on the way by shows and most likely postcards. In the end O'Grady jumped ship and Planinshek returned by canoe, reaching Montreal in 1932, where he left his 2 children in his cabins at Hudson Bay. Farley Mowat in her book otherwise records Planinsheks grisly history. The University of Calgary hold some of the postcards (3) all postally unused (3)
