Terrifically rare 1921 South Africa Springbok Rugby Player's Suitcase: Large rectangular leather official suitcase presented to the S African Springbok Rugby Players for their first tour of New Zealand in 1921, the start of a century of rivalry between those southern hemisphere giants. This 25" x 14" x 6" case belonged to J S 'Sass' de Kok, highly regarded fly half who was injured early in the tour and only recovered for three late games. Leather shows some wear, especially to two corners, and some fraying to internal fabric at crease, but good for age. Painted band in green and gold and neat black initials 'J S de K' painted to lid. Effectively a museum piece: find another?!
