Rare 1936 British Lions Rugby Team Photograph from their tour of Argentina: Large 24.75" x 20.25" mounted, original-wooden framed & glazed team photograph, titled & fully captioned. The team was managed and captained by Leicester Tigers Doug Prentice and Bernard Gadney, who had also led England to their first victory over NZ that year. This was the last occasion a Lions team would take with them a referee in the form of Brigadier Hugh Llewellyn Glyn Hughes CBE, DSO & Two Bars, MC, and MRCS: 'a military officer of the Royal Army Medical Corps'. The side also included Russian Prince Alexander Obolensky who is reputed to have scored 17 tries in the unofficial match against Brazil. VG
