Early 1929 Berkshire Golf Club Stevenson Scratch Spring Meeting 9ct gold and enamel medals – comprising the appropriate medals with blue enamel and blue ribbon score 72 and of course red enamel and red ribbon score 75 - played over both the Blue and Red courses in 1929 possibly the inaugural event – both individually mounted in a single display frame overall 12.5 x 14”. Note The Berkshire was founded in 1928 when its two courses, the Red and Blue, were constructed by the Office of Crown Lands on estates once used by Queen Anne for her hunting parties in the 17th & 18th century. The course was designed and laid out by Mr Herbert Fowler who began by raising for himself a lasting monument in the Old Course at Walton Heath and many more fine courses in his life time.
