Very Rare 1889 England International Rugby Cap v New Zealand Maoris Natives - awarded to Manchester RFC’s Charles Anderton - a maroon panelled velvet cap with braided rose badge, panel dividers and full tassel c/w players name to the Gardner and Fulford Outfitters Manchester makers name label - it has some wear but is still in remarkable condition for its age - with England briefly in the home international wilderness due to a dispute with the infant IRB, Anderton’s chance for a Cap came with the match against the touring NZ Maoris Natives in 1889.
