Ferdinand Fissi (1872-1954) Signed Oil on Board depicts a castle interior with a young girl descending down stairs to confront the ghostly knight, measures 85x68c approx. Ferdinand Fissi was born in Greenwich London, on 11th June 1872. He became well known as an illustrator, particularly for motoring publications, also as a scenic artist for studios in Britain and America where he emigrated in 1924. Perhaps his most famous work was the series of illustrations for the account of ‘Jack the Ripper’ which appeared in ‘Famous Crimes’ in about 1903.
