3x early 1900s Tooting Bec Golf Club Large Bronze Medals – finely embossed with period golfing figure on the obverse and engraved on the reverse with the winners details for 1901 March won By J R Hall 101-12=89; 1903 May Won By E M Drower 82-3=7; and 1916 April 1st Won By H Stratton – each embossed with makers details Waterlow & Sons Ltd – overall 2 3/8” dia (60mm). Note Tooting Bec Golf Club was formed in 1888 but because of its position and closeness to London it was always going to be destined for future development. After 14 yrs on the Furzedown Estate, the club moved in 1906 to South Lodge (designed by Willie Park) after the expiry of the lease at Fursedown, During the next 25 years the course saw changes by Dr Alister MacKenzie c1921 but once more in 1931 the club was sold off for further housing development.
