Extremely Rare 1828 Bruntsfield Links Friendly Golfing Society Edinburgh Scottish Silver Medal, hallmarked Edinburgh 1828 – played for in the Spring and Autumn Meetings - large oval medal is engraved on the obverse with Bruntsfield Crest and dated 1828 and on the reverse engraved with names of the winners to incl Douglas McEwan the inaugural winner and again in 1829, 1830and 1832 – other winners also included Alexander Kay, Thomas Geddes – overall 4.25”x2.5” – mounted framed and glazed 19” x 17” c/w image of the rear of the medal and The Patino Origins of Golf lotting label. Note purchased from The Jamie Ortiz-Patino Collection held by Christies in May 2012 with a guide £10,000 - £15,000 which was originally purchased by Patino at the Sotheby~s Auction Musselburgh July 1992.
