1978 Wigan Athletic official Application to join the Football League as an Associate Member, inside it states ‘please give the Country’s leading non-league Club a chance to prove itself at Football League level’. Consists of an official Wigan Athletic presentation card with club emblem, list of the club’s successes in recent times together with the facilities available to the fans on match days. Very Good. NB: League officials were impressed; the application was approved and Wigan entered the league in 1978/79.
