Edited by Sir W W Hunter K.C.S.I., C.I.E. This book is spotless internally with a folding map of the Indian Empire. The boards are navy blue with the title in gilt on the spine and front. Some blemishing on the front and back and gently worn about the edges. With large fold out map of the region, photographic frontis, and facsimile letter of Dalhousie, with contemporary ink inscription dated 1899 on the front endpaper. A fine accounts of the Governor General of Indian under whose leadership the Sikh Wars was won and the Punjab was annexed under controversial circumstances. Chapters on the conquest of the Punjab, Consolidation of the Punjab, annecation of Oudh, Burma nad the Nana Sahib.
