2x 1936 St Andrews British Amateur Golf Championship historical press photographs and a Snapshot Album and other Ephemera from 1915 (4) – to incl the 1936 winner Hector Thomson and the very first winner in 1885 A F McFee both holding the trophy; and just as interesting another intriguing photograph of Mrs Wallis Simpson (programme in hand) the future Duchess of Windsor at the Amateur Golf Championship in St Andrews with Hector Thomson outside the R&A Club House with Golf Links Lane on the background – both 10x8” – one with two corner clipped – plus Snapshot Album with 12 Real Photographs of St Andrews to incl 6 golfing scenes on the Old Course with large crowd scenes possibly either from The Open or Amateur Championships each with annotation on the reverse to incl Driving at The First Tee, 15th Fairway and Hole, Playing on The 16th Green, Playing The Road Hole, Playing tot the 17th Hole and Last Hole – in the original ‘slip in’ album overall 3.75” x 5”; and 1915 The Golfing Gentlewoman Supplement – containing an interesting article dated 4th Dec 1915 referring to the US President Wilson’s marriage to Mrs Norman Galt whose ancestral home became The West Bradford Golf Club as well as being a descendant of Princess Pocahontas – very frail with creases, tears and nicks – great article though.
