India - Scarce German Relief Map of India printed in a periodical Sept 1857 during the Indian Mutiny/Rebellion showing major locations with mountains, rivers, and also Telegraph lines. The telegraph lines are of interest because few maps show these, and many lines were cut during the mutiny, so communications had to travel by road or river transport, it could take up to eight weeks for news to finally reach England. Probably one of the best reliefs maps to have been produced at this time, 39x33cm, laid to card
