Shipping - Menu Card of the Princesse Alice II oceanographic research ship of Prince Albert I of Monaco - the card bears the Royal Coat of Arms and illustrates the research work of the ship, the stool in the science laboratory bears a label identifying the ship. Engraved by Marius Bovcel? and dated 1900. The ship was built in 1897 by Laird Bros and used in the artic expeditions of 1898/99 and 1906, she was sold in 1913 and was used by the Royal Navy in WWI and was subsequently reported missing on 8 Sept 1943 33x25.5cm overall, some brown staining also a menu card for the P&O liner Canberra dated 24 Aug 1996 4pp 30x21cm (2)
