Bill Rickaby Professional Jockey (b.1917- d.1987) – pair of worn leather lightweight racing boots with mahogany tops – worn by Bill Rickaby c/w hand written initials and name to the inside – his career spanned 37yrs riding 1,324 winners in 8x countries, winning his first ride on Boldero at Sandown in 1931 at the age of only 14 (absconded from school for the day) and was the cousin of Lester Piggott – together with framed and glazed print of 3 x Famous Derby Winners to incl Mill Reef (Geoff Lewis) – Grundy (Pat Eddery) and The Minstrel (Lester Piggott) – 8 x 22”. Note Big races won by Rickaby incl Forum (Goodwood Stakes ‘32), Commissar (Lincoln Handicap ‘48), Eastern Emperor (Chester Cup ‘53), Happy Laughter (Coronation Stakes ‘53), as well as winning 3 Classics - Two Thousand Guineas in ‘62 on Privy Councillor; and Sweet Solera in the 1000 Guineas and The Oaks in 1961
