Rare Japan Rugby Medallion: Neatly wooden-boxed, this bronze item is approx 1” square, with player action to front & Japanese characters & ‘1932’ embossed to reverse. A note enclosed mentions the 1932 Canadian Tour to Japan, when effectively Japan's first international matches took place. A translation of the engraving, though, reveals only that it was issued by the rugby club of Tenri Foreign Language School (currently Tenri University in Nara Prefecture), founded in 1927.
