Scarce and early Hardy Bros Makers Alnwick “The Bethune” line winder c.1873- with light stained possibly fruitwood handle, brass frame and 4 screw-out line spreaders, small thumb screw to that keeps everything taut, curved winding arm with horn/bone handle, fitted with Hardy’s brass “W” reel fittings and sliding ring – makers details stamped to the brass frame – some minor knock to the cast line spreader – otherwise good original finish.
