India & Punjab – Maharajah Duleep Singh Cartoon An antique 19th century engraving from depicting Maharajah Duleep Singh disguised as the Irishman revolutionary ‘Pat Casey’ with his Russian accomplice Katkoff, Dated 1887. In 1887 the Maharajah conspired with the Russian agent of the Tsar of Russia to come to St Petersburg to gain support for an invasion of India. This engraving and article was published in the Punch ridiculing the Maharajah’s exploits in Europe.
