India & Punjab – First Anglo Sikh War – Scarce volume of the Pictorial Times January to June 1846 - covering the Sikh War in weekly issues between 7th Feb to 25th April 1846 (the news was 6-8 weeks in arriving), includes the Battle of Ferozepur, Aliwali and Sobraon, with 25x illustrations, 3x of which are double pages and much textual content. Illustrations include Advance of the Sikhs, A Troop of Sikhs Attacks the Colours, Court Astrologers, Tei Singh, Battle of Ferozepur, The Rani of Lahore and Her son Dalip Singh, The Sikh Army (double page), The Sirkan, Dhuleep Singh etc. There are also many illustrations relating to Britain and World events, 416pp, with approx. 200 pages of illustrations. This is an exceptionally scarce volume as not many were bound, and so did not survive, also rare being bound in publisher’s cloth.
