Richard Walker letter 1983 – circa August/September 1983 hand written and signed Dick – discussing the Victor reels, lubrication, pick up bearings and the pin which the handle is attached to its crank et al – will heed Cloverley’s advice and buy some Bayer Superloom. Going on to discuss Cloverley’s fishing season and remarking by his own standards a 3lb Tench is a good big fish and never mind about what the record is – “in fact I’m impatient with all the nonsense that is talked and written about big fish; you can’t catch fish of record or near record size if they aren’t there” again he goes on to confirm that he had done very little fishing that year and found it far more rewarding to invite some young chaps to fish from his garden and giving advice and see them catch a nice chub or roach. Also hoping to recover from a recent injury and to go out and catch a few trout the following week.
