Richard Walker Letter 1983 – 11th May 2x page 8x paragraph typed letter hand signed Dick - with further reference to the arrival of The Fibatube rod and the fact that you didn’t actually design “The Victor” rods but did in fact incorporate the tapers that he worked out years ago - the but really wanted further opinion that he didn’t want to be biased Followed by a paragraph with reference to his wife “she knows how to catch fish-so she should, her father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all anglers and she herself was editor of the old “Fishing Gazette”…… The best trout, caught on a fly was a little over 10lb and she’s lost count of how many she’s had 4lb. She is not bad at coarse fishing either, having taken quite a few good Roach, Rudd, Tench, Barbel, Pike and Carp. Most of the remaining letter covers general chat about the areas where they live, gardening, and also another paragraph when he and Pat went fishing just a couple of days previously with Pat catching a 2lb trout and “I copped nowt! Then she came along the bank and asked me if I’d heard a cuckoo! I said, “yes it was telling me what I am!” Final paragraph refers to the rod again and hope it arrives safely and was looking forward to his comments based on a strictly commercial proposition and didn’t want anyone to be afraid to say the rod is “no bloody good if that is so - which is why I was glad to find a forthright Lancastrian to try!
