Richard Walker Letter 1983 – 2nd May - 2x page 5x paragraph typed letter and hand signed…

Richard Walker Letter 1983 – 2nd May - 2x page 5x paragraph typed letter and hand signed Dick – a wonderful and typical Dick Walker letter with reference to Coronation Street which he reckons is an insult to Lancastrians… “To watch it you’d think all they do is booze, gossip and change their womenfolk whereas in a real street like that you’d be hard to find a single house weather wasn’t a good healthy interest in something: pigeon racing, whippets, football, cricket, fishing and dozens others” He then moves on to his employment as a design consultant to Hardy’s and their associate company Fibatube Ltd, the latter company producing a range of rods and wanting a few independent opinions about them, with Richard arranging for a 13ft to be sent to Jim for his honest opinion. Then reference to fly fishing for trout with his wife and friends Peter Thomas and Fred Buller and their remarkable catch including 24 trout from 1lb 6oz to 3lbs 10oz in the 3 visits they had. There daily allowance – and his preference to returning fish alive which isn’t allowed so they are killed humaely and then given to his friends to enjoy. Finally reference to his treatment of cancer which didn’t stop him fishing and he was able to give every nurse, doctor, radiotherapist and receptionist a nice fat trout!
