Autograph – Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811-1896) hand written letter ‘H.B. Stowe, to Dear Mr. H M, acknowledging receipt of a check of $100 for two instalments of "Pussy Willow" and promising to send another instalment, [1869?]’ 1 page, measures 13x20cm approx., small tears to one side with tissue covering. Stowe was an American abolitionist and author. She came from the Beecher family, a famous religious family, and is best known for her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852), which depicts the harsh conditions for enslaved African Americans.
