Very Rarely seen before Hardy Bros Depth Sounding Reel c.1945 onwards – 3.75” dia Tuffnol spool, anodised brass backplate with on/off ratchet, line guard, and a simple regulator adjusted by screwing in a knurled screw protruding through the back plate c/w adjustable webbing arm sleeve. These reels were made for the Admiralty to use on survey ships and were only produced in limited numbers when Hardy intended to discontinue production for economic reasons the Admiralty increased their order to 66 at a cost of £26 each!!
