1889 Historic Early Rugby Book: Harry Vassall of Oxford and England’s famous instructional volume from the very early days, with appendices of rules, meetings etc., and the usual warnings about professionalism. A hugely influential organiser and captain of the University who scored three tries v Wales in that first 1881 encounter, he was at the time of writing the book the Treasurer of the RFU. 74 pp, in the All-England Series, hard green boards with rugby action scene, spine loosened internally, previous owner written on title page, foxing/browning to endpapers only, in remarkably good order for its 130 years.
