India & Punjab – Rattray’s Sikhs c. 1903 Lithograph a distinguished native officer Subadar-Major Jiwand Singh Bahador of the 45th Sikhs. Jiwand Singh served in the Makaland siege of 1897 and other campaigns. Rattray’s Sikhs are famed for the defence of Arrah House in 1857 when 18 British civilian and 50 Sikhs defended for 8 days against 10,000+ rebel forces, measures 29x21cm approx., mounted.
