Scarce 1939 England/Wales v Scotland/Ireland Services Red Cross International Rugby Programme: Sought after issue for this first big game during WWII, for the Red Cross Fund, at Richmond on 16th December 1939. Obolensky played, amongst many caps or ‘caps-to-be’. Slim 8 pp edition with illustrated player penpics and to the cover the iconic, much-used ‘reaching player’ image associated with publications of Forsyth’s (outfitters of Edinburgh and London) whose advert fills the back cover. Split to slightly rusty stapled spine & centre fold, & faint address to back, but entire, attractive, interesting and very redolent of time and place 80 years ago. (F/G)
