Guru Nanak Embroidery textile - A large oriental textile needlework depicting Guru Nanak with floral borders and decorations. The facial feature of the Guru are those of the far-east, evidencing the Guru’s far-reaching influence of his teachings. The maker of this embroidery may have been Shanghai, known as a Ramala, which would have been used to cover the Sikh Scriptures The Guru Granth Sahib. C.1900.
