Crystal Palace Exhibition 1851 - “A For Service Medallion” - Obverse; Portrait of Prince Albert. Reverse; Wreath with legend “For Service Exhibition of the Works of Industry of all nations MDCCCLI (1851)” Unusual as around the edge made out to Thomas Simmons Police Constable. Clearly one of the regular ones employed to Police the building, thus quite scarce and the only one I have ever seen. Bronze size 45mm diameter.
