Maritime – Death of Captain Croker of H.M.S. Favorite – Original document entitled ‘Copy of the official dispatch relative to the attack on the Stockade of Bea Island of Tongataboo on the 24th June 1840’ containing the events and describes how he died by gun-shot wound. This is also reported in the Australasian Chronicle 1839-1843 stating ‘…The Death of Captain Croker who received a rifle ball in the left breast, which passed through his heart while leaning against a tree…’, also included are Naval records dating c.1847 onwards for Thomas Cass who was responsible for the safe keeping of this document, an interesting selection of documents and with Historical Importance (14)
