Scarce The Cabinet-Maker And Upholsterer’s Drawing Book By Thomas Sheraton 1793 an…

Scarce The Cabinet-Maker And Upholsterer’s Drawing Book By Thomas Sheraton 1793 an informative large 502 page book with 102 plates extensively detailing the manufacturing and style of Sheraton’s furniture of that period. This was an expensive manufacturer’s reference book sold on subscription with the subscribers name here printed. In this case being Joseph Grey of Norwich. This book was with him and his in-law descendents the Page’s who were in the furniture business in Norwich calling themselves St Andrews Cabinet Works in Norwich by the 1880s until the book was sold (stamped bill of sale enclosed) in 1934 to Richard Bowers. Many people even today remember buying top quality furniture at ‘Trevor Page‘, for the shop remained in business until 1983. This provenance information is both written and printed on the front page of the book. In original Marble board and calf leather spine and corners. Large size being 8” × 10¼” and 2½” thick. An interesting and scarce early Sheraton Furniture reference Book, with damage to the rear board
