George Best 1967: Surprising situation regarding George who was accused of verbally abusing a young United fan (the vendor) who was asking for George’s autograph. George told him where to go in no uncertain terms and used colourful language in a bad tempered response. The vendor’s big sister was so upset she wrote to George at the club and received a reply from George who threatened legal action but also sent the vendor his autograph.
