Keswick – c. 1870-90s Impressive Poster Advertising ‘Mayson’s Ordnance Model of the Lake District’ exhibited at Lake District Repository, Lake Road, Keswick. With illustration of the building where this large model is situated. Stating that; “This Model has been constructed mathematically from the Ordnance Survey after great Labour and at heavy cost. It contains 210 square feet, - the horizontal and vertical scale being 6 inches to a mile, and coloured to nature. All the Mountains, Lakes, Tarns, Waterfalls, Rivers, and their Tributaries; Woods, Roads, Villages, Villas etc., are correctly delineated”. Attractively printed four colours and gold. Size 32 x 43cm approx. (The original moulds for the model still exist and are at present being conserved. In good clean as new condition).
