Playfair, Hugh - “The Playfair Family” limited edition of only 200 copies in the original paper wrappers, complete with numerous portraits illustrations and further list of additional notes (G) plus “A Swing Through Time – Golf In Scotland 1457-1744” by Loive Geddes complete with the original wrappers (G) (2). Note In 1834 Playfair retired from the army to St Andrews where he served as Provost from 1842 till his death in 1861. Whilst Provost he is credited with building St Andrews Public Library, revived the Royal and Ancient Golf Club and St Andrews Golf Club at St Andrews and was one of the promoters of the St Andrews Railway.
